JACKSON — A former Hinds County deputy circuit clerk is charged with altering public records to list herself as married so she could have a conjugal visit with a prisoner.
Attorney General Jim Hood said in a news release Tuesday that 32-year-old Kimberly Keonna Gibson of Terry, also known as Kimberly Keonna Turner, was arrested this past Thursday after she was indicted by a Hinds County grand jury.
The indictment says Gibson altered public records “to show she was married when in fact she was not.” Marriage records are filed in the circuit clerk’s office.
Hinds County records show Gibson remains jailed. It wasn’t immediately clear whether she has an attorney.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections commissioner ended the practice of allowing inmates to have conjugal visits as of Feb. 1.
