JACKSON — Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood has been elected president of the National Association of Attorneys General.
The group held is summer meeting this week in Mackinac Island, Michigan.
Hood, a Democrat, has been attorney general since 2004.
Hood says in a news release that he’ll focus on challenges facing the attorneys general in fighting digital crime and protecting intellectual property rights.
Hood succeeded Wisconsin Attorney General JB Van Hollen.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley was elected president-elect and Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen was elected vice president.
