AMORY — Four people are dead and four others hospitalized after an early morning mobile home fire in Itawamba County.
Sheriff Chris Dickinson tells WTVA TV the fire was reported early today about five miles north of Amory. Dickinson says a space heater is believed to have started the deadly fire.
The sheriff says three people died in the trailer, a 17-year-old, a 2-year old and a 3-month old infant. A fourth person died at a Tupelo hospital
Dickinson says two victims were airlifted to Memphis hospitals. Two other people are being treated at area hospitals.
The names of the victims have not been released.
