The Golden Triangle Regional Development Link announced Thursday that Finally LLC, a filing and folder products manufacturer, will move operations to Starkville and invest about $1 million in the new venture.
The move represents the second major economic development obtained for Oktibbeha County by the Link. In October, C Spire officials announced it would build a $20 million data-processing center in the Thad Cochran Research Park.
Finally LLC purchased a Virginia-based competitor and will relocate the company to the South Hangar building located on Airport Road. The company entered into a lease with the city for the property.
A copy of the lease was unavailable at press time.
“We are excited about the potential that Starkville has to offer, and we are looking forward to expanding our operation there,” said Steve Frank, chief executive officer of BSP Filing Solutions, the company held by Finally LLC.
Equipment from Virginia is expected to arrive in December, and installation will begin immediately. The investment is expected to employ 30-40 people initially and possibly expand the operation depending on market conditions.
Joey Deason, Oktibbeha County’s Link representative, said hiring should begin in early December. Employment opportunities will be coordinated through the WIN Job Center.
“We are extremely excited to announce another win for the GTRD Link here in Starkville and Oktibbeha County,” Deason said in a release. “A special thanks to the Mississippi Development Authority, … Starkville aldermen, the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors and the Starkville Airport Board. Their combined efforts made this project a reality.”
“We are grateful in the confidence the company has placed in our state, and we with them continued success in the Golden Triangle region,” added MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen in the release.
