BYHALIA, Miss. — Deputies arrested a child for allegedly making terrorist threats against the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office
WMC TV reports law enforcement received about eight anonymous calls Wednesday saying that someone possibly had a hostage and was armed with a high powered rifle and a bomb in a mobile home park. The caller also said the perpetrator would hurt law enforcement if he was approached, and he would blow up the sheriff’s office.
Authorities began going door to door in the area of Grove Boulevard in Byhalia around 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and evacuated roughly 100 people from the park.
The Shelby County bomb squad and a K-9 unit did not find any weapons or bombs.
Officials are not releasing the age of the child.
