The following cases were disposed of this week in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court:
Steven Ewell pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and was sentenced as an habitual offender. He was sentenced to serve eight years in MDOC and will be ineligible for parole, probation, early release, “good-time credits” or weekend or overnight passes. Additionally, Ewell was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.
Counts two through five of his charges were retired to the files.
Willie E. Scott pleaded guilty to shoplifting, third offense and was sentenced to serve five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. His sentence was suspended and he was sentenced to five years of probation, ordered to pay a $300 fine and $440.90 restitution. Additionally, he was ordered not to enter the Oktibbeha County Co-op “at any time.”
George Peterson pleaded guilty to one count of sale of marijuana, less than 30 grams. He was sentenced to serve one year in MDOC and to pay a $250 fine. Peterson also pleaded guilty to a third count of sale of marijuana, less than 30 grams, within 150 feet of a school. He was sentenced to serve one year in MDOC and to pay a $250 fine. He also was sentenced to five years of post-release supervision. Count two of the charges was retired to the files.
Michael Dennis pleaded guilty to one count of burglary of an automobile and was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $275 in restitution and a $500 fine.
A second count of burglary of an automobile was retired to the files.
n Corey Yates pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced to serve 10 years in MDOC. His sentence was suspended and he was sentenced to five years of probation. Additionally, he was ordered to pay $750 in restitution and a $750 fine.
Darnell Winn pleaded guilty to false pretense and was sentenced to three years in MDOC, with the first year to be served through the Intensive Supervision Program/house arrest.
He also was ordered to pay a $500 fine and a second count of his charges was retired to the files.
Damaris Rosenthal pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced to five years of probation and to pay a $500 fine.
Jonathan St. Vigne pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced to seven years in MDOC, with five suspended and two to be served.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay a $750 fine.
St. Vigne also pleaded guilty to a second count of grand larceny and sentenced to seven years in MDOC, with six suspended and one year to be served. He was ordered to pay a $750 fine.
Arquettie Johnson pleaded guilty to false pretense and was sentenced to five years probation, a $500 fine and to pay $1,622 restitution.
Aakash Patel pleaded guilty to possession of amphetamine and was sentenced to five years of non-adjudicated probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. Patel also pleaded guilty to a third count and was sentenced to five years of non-adjudicated probation and a $1,000 fine. Count two of his charges was retired to the files.
Rodriguez Gandy pleaded guilty to armed robbery and was sentenced to serve 15 years in MDOC and five years of post-release supervision. He also pleaded guilty to a fourth count of armed robbery and was sentenced to serve 10 years in MDOC, to run consecutively with the sentence for count one. Counts two, three, five, six and seven were retired to the files.
