A Columbus shooting Thursday night left two men injured and two arrested.
Joel Dudley Jones, 21, of 413 Springdale Drive in Columbus, and Taylor Kamal Conner, 18, of 605 Ave. B. in Columbus, were arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon or other means to produce death.
At around 9:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1106 Ash Street on reports someone had been shot, said Columbus Police Department Public Information Officer Glenda Buckhalter.
The shooting, during which two men were injured — Tamarcus Thomas, 32, and another victim whose name was not known at press time — was the result of an “ongoing altercation that had happened earlier in the day,” said Buckhalter, noting the nature of the altercation was not reported to police, but witnesses stated the feud was ongoing.
Thomas was treated and released from Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle; the other victim reportedly suffered serious injuries.
The CPA continues to investigate the shooting.
