WEST POINT — Five cases involving cocaine or methamphetamine yielded guilty pleas and lengthy prison sentences during the January term of Clay County Circuit Court, which concluded Jan. 20.
Records in the circuit clerk’s office did not include defendants’ hometowns or ages.
Judge Lee Coleman presiding
- Carolyn Wade pleaded guilty to two counts of sale of cocaine and was sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections and five years probation. Coleman suspended five years. Wade must also pay a $5,000 fine.
- Thomas Holder pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and was sentenced to eight years in the MDOC and a $2,000 fine.
- Victory K. Harris pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and shooting into a dwelling. Harris was sentenced to 15 years in t MDOC and five years probation. Coleman suspended 10 years of the prison sentence.
- Judy Harmon pleaded guilty to non-support of a child and was sentenced to five years probation, $30,000 in restitution and a $500 fine.
- George Ballard pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and was sentenced to two years in the MDOC, five years probation and a $500 fine.
- Phillip Carl Casteele pleaded guilty to four counts burglary of an automobile, two counts of burglary of a building and one count of burglary of a dwelling. He was sentenced to 23 years in the MDOC, five years probation, a $1,200 fine and $3,851.74 in restitution.
- Byron Perry’s aggravated assault and felony weapons possession case was continued to the April term while he awaits a medical examination from charges in Oktibbeha County.
- Gustavus Shaw’s fondling and sexual battery case was continued to April 10.

- Richard Smith pleaded guilty to the burglary of an automobile and was sentenced to seven years — all suspended — in the MDOC, five years probation and a $1,200 fine.
- Jeremy Kyle Duke pleaded guilty to the sale or transfer of cocaine. Duke was sentenced to 12 years in the MDOC and one year of house arrest. Howard suspended four years of the sentence and gave Duke a $2,400 fine.
- Shavea D. Walker pleaded guilty to three counts of sale of cocaine, two counts of sale of marijuana and two counts of child abuse. Walker was sentenced to 20 years in the MDOC, five years probation and a $5,000 fine.
- Lorenzo White pleaded guilty to DUI, third offense, and was sentenced to five years in the MDOC, four years of house arrest and a $2,000 fine.
- Kirby Ray pleaded guilty to six counts of uttering forgery and was sentenced to four years in the MDOC, five years probation, a $1,500 fine and $290 restitution.
- Quinton Hoskins pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced to 10 years — all suspended — in the MDOC, five years probation, $3,000 in restitution and a $5,000 fine.
- Deairis S. Eacholes pleaded guilty to burglary of a building and was sentenced to two years in the MDOC, five years probation, a $1,000 fine and $1,003.23 in restitution.
- Michael Keith pleaded guilty to manufacturing methamphetamine. He was sentenced to eight years in the MDOC, five years probation and a $1,200 fine.
- Bernard Metcalf pleaded guilty to DUI, third offense, and was sentenced to one year in the MDOC and a $2,000 fine.
- Michael Walker’s grand larceny and kidnapping case was continued to July while the court awaits a mental evaluation.
- Latrai Spraggins’ statutory rape case was continued to the July term.
