WEST POINT — The West Point Police Department is looking for a 20-year-old black male they say shot his cousin last week.
Kevon Tucker, of 855 Grove St., is charged with aggravated assault after shooting 28-year-old Frank Johnson following an argument at the corner of Tom Bayne Street and Grove Street on Oct. 5, police said.
Tucker is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 145 pounds with short hair, and authorities say he is armed and dangerous.
Johnson suffered a single gunshot wound, which went through his arm and lodged into his leg, WPPD Detective Carl Lampton said. Johnson was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point, where he was treated and released.
WPPD served a felony arrest warrant — and a search warrant for the small-caliber gun used in the shooting — at Tucker’s home on Oct. 6, the day after the shooting. The weapon was not recovered. Tucker’s family said they do not know of his whereabouts, Lampton said.
Anyone with further information on the shooting is asked to contact the West Point Police Department at 662-494-1244 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
