A 28-year-old man was charged Tuesday with shooting a woman”s eye with a BB gun, five counts of armed robbery and one simple assault.
Antonio Montez Stevenson of 118 Howard Hill Road in Macon was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday at Lowndes County Justice Court, where he faced prior misdemeanor charges.
Stevenson is accused of the armed robbery and assault of two women at Fifth Street and Fifth Avenue South May 23.
Then-26-year-old Zachary”s waitress Courtney Fletcher was shot with a BB gun in the eye, which she later lost, after she and co-worker, Summer Stovall, stopped to help Stevenson and another suspect, who were posing as stranded motorists, said Police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
Stevenson is also accused of shooting Stovall in the back with a BB gun as she escaped.
For that incident, he was charged with two counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a weapon and simple assault.
He is also charged with the July 31 armed robbery of a man in front of the Princess Theater, and of the armed robbery of two people at the Dutch Maid Auto Wash at Walmart July 29.
At least one of his victims picked him out of a photograph lineup, according to police.
Interim Police Chief Selvain McQueen said additional charges were “forthcoming.”
Police are currently looking for two men who robbed and assaulted a man with a BB gun early Sunday on the Columbus island.
