The Point can”t seem to get enough of a good thing. The revitalized farmers” market that debuted when summer began was such a hit, its run has been extended through August”s end. It had originally been scheduled for each Thursday in June and July.
The season”s new location at the Mossy Oak Pavilion on Highway 45 Alternate, a new time, quality vendors and weekly attractions including chefs” demonstrations, a food carving workshop, and zucchini races generated widespread interest and faithful shoppers.
“The Growth Alliance, a Main Street Association, is so proud to have been able to host such a successful farmers” market — and so excited that both the community and the farmers don”t want to see it end,” said Martha Allen, director of community development and Main Street for the Growth Alliance.
Weekly vendors have been offering homegrown vegetables, tomatoes, fruits, baked breads, homemade noodles, jams and jellies and even fresh hummus.
West Point”s market will continue Aug. 11, 18 and 25, from 4-7 p.m.
“And farmers” market T-shirts are in, so please stop by the Growth Alliance to pick yours up,” urged Allen.
