A 4-County lineman was burned Wednesday morning when he briefly touched a live power line in Clay County.
The lineman, whose name has not been released, was working in the Una community Wednesday morning when the accident occurred. Jon Turner, manager of public relations and marketing for 4-County, said the lineman was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo and later transported to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Brandon for observation. He is reportedly alert and conscious and was taken to the burn center as a precaution.
A release from 4-County included a quote from CEO Joe Cade stating the cooperative”s focus is on the injured lineman.
“The thoughts and prayers of cooperative employees are with our co-worker. Certainly, we are praying for his speedy recovery. Our linemen place themselves in intense working conditions each and every day and we appreciate them so much,” Cade said. “Safety is and has always been a top priority for the cooperative.”
