As prospective jury members were being sorted through by attorneys, a Lowndes County man decided to give up on the judicial process.
An obviously stressed Jamarcus Patmon ducked out of the courthouse at about 3 p.m., minutes before his trial for three counts of sale of cocaine was scheduled to start.
His attorney, district attorney candidate Steve Wallace, called Patmon”s decision “dumb” and decided along with District Attorney Forrest Allgood, who is seeking reelection, to go ahead and try the absent Patmon before Circuit Judge Lee Howard Tuesday evening.
Patmon, who now has a warrant out for his arrest, was still absent when the trial resumed earlier today.
