A 23-year-old man suffered minor injuries early Friday when he was hit in the head with a beer bottle at the Grey Goose nightclub.
A security guard flagged down a passing Columbus police officer at about 1:15 a.m. after the fight, said police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
While the officer was interviewing witnesses, he noticed blood on the victim”s face, Songer continued. As they were talking, the suspect left the club through a side exit with two females.
An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but the victim declined to be taken to the hospital, Songer said.
The victim said he would not press charges of simple assault with injuries against the suspect if he were found, she added.
Police are also investigating another incident involving a fight at the Grey Goose.
The day before, police were called to 2117 14th Ave. N. for a disturbance with a gun at 10:24 a.m., Songer said.
Two men had exchanged heated words about a fight at the nightclub the week before where the victim”s nose had been broken, she said.
The suspect, who was dressed all in black, pulled a black automatic handgun and fired it at the victim, who had already jumped inside his mother”s parked truck, Songer said. No injuries were reported.
The suspect, who fled the scene, had not been taken into custody by police Monday morning, Songer said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151. An anonymous tip that leads to an arrest could be worth up to $1,000.
