A Natchez man was charged this weekend with aggravated assault for a shooting Sunday morning in Brookville Gardens.
Officers from the Starkville Police Department were dispatched to OCH Regional Medical Center Sunday at 6:23 a.m. to investigate the report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers determined the male victim had suffered one gunshot wound to the upper body. He was in stable condition as of noon Monday, although police were not releasing his identity.
Police determined the shooting took place shortly after 6 a.m. at Brookville Gardens, unit 11C. Officers arrived at that location and spoke with Demetrics Antuan Bridges, 28, of Natchez, who was escorted to the Starkville Police Department and charged with aggravated assault.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, SPD Detective William Durr said.
Bridges” bond hearing is set for 2 p.m. today in Starkville Municipal Court.
