Starkville police arrested four men Monday after one was spotted on a stolen bicycle and a search of his apartment revealed additional stolen property.
Police responded to a burglary call around 7:25 p.m. Sunday at 213 N. Washington St. and discovered two bicycles, an Xbox 360 and two video games had been stolen.
On Monday evening, patrol officers stopped 23-year-old Clayton Butler, of 215 Louisville St., Apt. 7, while he was riding a bicycle which matched the description of the bike stolen Sunday from North Washington Street. Officers determined the bike had been stolen from North Washington Street and then conducted a consensual search of Butler”s residence, according to a SPD release. Three other apartment occupants, 19-year-old Cameron Robinson, 35-year-old Tony Armstead and 20-year-old Kendrick Harvey also consented to the search, during which police discovered the stolen X-Box 360.
Butler was charged with receiving stolen property, Robinson was charged with possession of marijuana, Armstead was arrested for outstanding warrants and Harvey was charged with burglary, based on his confession.
