Sales tax revenues in the city of Starkville have continued to increase so far this year compared to the same months in 2009.
The most recent figures released by the city show sales tax revenues in June, the last month for which totals are available, increased 2.45 percent over June 2009. The figures, however, do not include the revenues collected as part of the city”s 2 percent restaurant tax.
This June, sales tax revenues totaled $426,622.12. In June 2009, sales tax revenues totaled $416,409.09.
Throughout the first six months of 2010, sales tax revenues have increased over 2009 totals during every month except February.
In January of this year, $448,787.31 in sales tax revenues were collected, compared to $405,289.88 in January 2009.
In February, sales tax revenues only totaled $420,263.64 compared to $422,317.42 in February 2009.
Revenues for March of this year totaled $448,312.25 compared to $427,565.96 in 2009.
In April, sales tax revenues totaled $450,470.94, while in April of 2009 revenues were $428,268.92.
Sales tax revenues for May of this year totaled $423,737.02 compared to just $387,521.75 in May of 2009.
On average, sales tax revenues for the first six months of this year were $436,365.55, compared to $427,479.76 during the first six months of 2009.
