The Mississippi State University Police Department is still investigating the report of a sexual assault reported to have taken place last weekend on campus, but had no new leads as of Wednesday.
“I haven”t got any further developments to report at this time,” MSU Police Chief Georgia Lindley said. “It”s still an ongoing investigation. We”re encouraging anyone with information or anyone who might have seen anything to contact us.”
A female Mississippi State student told police she was approached at the intersection of Lee and Coliseum boulevards as she walked back to her apartment Saturday between 4-4:30 a.m. Threatened with a gun, the student was assaulted near McKee Hall before her assailant fled, police said.
While details are still being investigated, an initial description of the suspect indicates he was a black male, between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall.
Anyone with information can contact the MSU Police Department at 662-325-2121.
