Columbus Police made two arrests in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night.
According to information provided by CPD Public Information Officer Terrie Songer, the subjects were identified as Cordarius Rashad Stewart, 21, of 247 William Roberts Road in Columbus, and Victor Joestheous Jackson, 20, of 415 Maderia Drive in Columbus.
Both were charged with accessory after the fact to an armed robbery;
Songer said that on Sunday at about8:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to Columbus Lanes at 122 S. McCrary Road regarding an armed robbery.
“The victim said a black male approached him with his arm across his face and pointed a handgun at him and demanded all his money,” she said.
The suspect got the victim”s wallet and ran around the building. A silver Crown Victoria was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
A couple of hours later, a detective saw a silver Crown Victoria parked at Sandfield One Stop at 2408 Main St.
“Three black males were sitting inside the Crown Victoria. Another officer arrived on scene and assisted the detective with the investigation,” Songer said.
One of the subjects, sitting in the back seat of the vehicle, fit the description of the suspect.
The officer asked the subject to get out of the vehicle so he could talk with him. The subject got out of the vehicle and ran.
Songer said Stewart and Jackson, who were arrested at 10:52 p.m. Sunday, were both in the car with the subject when he ran away.
The investigation is ongoing, and other arrests are expected.
Songer said no bond or court date has been set.
