COLUMBUS — More than a dozen kids from Palmer Home for Children were treated to free haircuts Saturday, courtesy of the stylists of Salon 417.
“We want to give to the community and be a part of the community,” Joshua Fountain of Salon 417 said of offering the free haircuts, which will be given about every seven weeks to the Palmer Home kids.
The Palmer Home houses 39 children, ages 4 to 18.
About 20 kids received free haircuts Saturday.
“It”s really nice of them to offer to do this,” Palmer Home House Parent Hal Fuller, who took the kids to the salon, said. “It saves us a lot of money and we can do other things for the kids, with the money.”
Salon 417 stylists are considering offering free haircuts to other groups or children”s” organizations, in addition to Palmer Home for Children, said Fountain.
Palmer Home for Children is a non-profit organization aiming to provide a long-term, stable home for children lacking adequate family structures.
