Sentences in cases ranging from drug possession to burglary have been handed down during the first two weeks of the February term of 16th District Circuit Court in Lowndes County.
Judges Lee Howard and James Kitchens are presiding over the term.
- Stephen E. Walker, of 263 Priscilla Circle in Columbus, pleaded guilty to count three of manufacture of methamphetamine. Howard sentenced Walker to 25 years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, then five years probation; he was also ordered to pay court costs and fines totaling $5,000.
- Stanley Jenkins, of 303 22nd St. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to malicious mischief. Kitchens sentenced Jenkins to one year with the MDOC then four years probation.
- Ricardo Mosley, of 716 19th St. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to shooting into a dwelling. Kitchens sentenced Mosley to 10 years with the MDOC with nine years suspended and five years probation following his release.
- Willie Wallace, of 815 13th St. N., Apt. 5 in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Kitchens sentenced Wallace to four years with the MDOC, then five years of probation.
- Demitrius Petty, of 1313 Outlaw Road in Starkville, pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling. He was sentenced by Kitchens to 12 years with the MDOC, then five years probation.
- Brian Dewayne Black, of 4935 Highway 182 E. No 1 in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of morphine. Kitchens sentenced Black to four years with MDOC, then five years of probation.
- Donmontay Fisher, of 2214 Eighth Ave. S. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender. Kitchens sentenced Fisher to serve one year with MDOC, then four years of probation.
- Kenneth L. Harper, of 711 Hemlock Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, less than 1 gram. Howard sentenced Harper to serve one year with the MDOC, then three years probation.
