Kenneth Macon, who has been a person of interest in two residential break-ins and a brutal assault in Columbus, may have also broken into a Clay County home over the weekend.
According to information provided by Clay County Chief Deputy Eddie Scott, a person believed to be Macon broke into a residence west of West Point on Moon Valley Road Friday night.
Scott said the victim was home at the time of the break-in, but was unharmed.
“The victim identified Macon out of a photo lineup Saturday morning. That is the only confirmation we got. No items were taken from the home,” Scott said.
Scott added the Sheriff”s Department began receiving tips Friday morning that Macon could be in the area.
Scott said investigators continue looking into the incident, and are tracking down leads.
“Our deputies have increased patrols throughout the weekend in the search for Kenneth Macon. We are also coordinating efforts with Columbus Police Department and other law enforcement agencies to find him,” he said.
Macon, 28, has been on the loose for over three weeks after his 48-hour pass from the Walnut Grove Transitional Center in Leake County expired. He was on probation on drug charges.
