The Columbus Police Department reminded residents to keep safety in mind over the Labor Day weekend with the following precautions:
- Don”t drink and drive, and don”t allow friends to do so either.
- If you are planning on being on the road over the long weekend, plan enough time for the trip and don”t speed; watch out for careless and aggressive drivers; be well rested; et your vehicle checked out before you get on the road; and wear your seat belt.
- If remaining in town, the CPD advises to avoid taking unnecessary risks when enjoying the outdoors. Use caution when boating, swimming, riding four-wheelers, and using all-terrain vehicles.
