So far, drug offenders have made up the vast majority of the criminal cases coming before the Lowndes County Circuit Court, the majority of which are related to methamphetamine possession, sale or manufacturing.
The following sentences have been handed down by the court:
- Joel Henry Franks Jr. of 201 Snake Road in Vernon, Ala., pleaded guilty to one count possession of methamphetamine, greater than one gram but less than two grams. He was sentenced to two years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years probation upon release and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
- Stanton Lee Madison of 114 Tower Road in Vernon, Ala., pleaded guilty to one count possession of precursors. He was sentenced to eight years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years of post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.
- Heather Lott of 12882 Highway 45 North in Finger, Tenn., pleaded guilty to one count felony shoplifting. She was sentenced to five years non-adjudicated probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine.
- Stacy R. Pryor of 2175 County Road 187 in Ethelsville, Ala., pleaded guilty to one count possession of methamphetamine and one count possession of precursors. For the first count, he was sentenced to one year in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. For the second he was sentenced to six years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years of post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. The sentences are to run concurrently.
- Gina Lee Steen of 210 Apanoug Road in Kosiusko pleaded guilty to one count sale of cocaine. Steen was sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
- Travis L. Weatherspoon of 68 Farmers Market Road in Crawford pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to four years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
- April Murphy of 19 Shrinewood Street in Columbus pleaded guilty to one count possession of precursors. She was sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years of post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.
- Roosevelt Porter of 1203 4th St. S. in Columbus pleaded guilty to one count aggravated assault. He was sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $6,143.82 fine.
- Roosevelt Porter of 1365 Concord Road in Columbus pleaded guilty to robbery. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
- Demetrius Glenn of 4180 Highway 373 in Columbus pleaded guilty to one count sale of marijuana. He was sentenced to three years non-adjudicated probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
- Tony McCullough of 8249 Highway 182 East pleaded guilty to one count possession of a controlled substance, methylphenidate, more than 40 dosage units and one count possession of a controlled substance, amphetamine, more than 40 dosage units. For the first count he was sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, 5 years post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine. For the second count he was sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine. The sentences are to run concurrently.
- Royael Jones of 1101 11th Ave. S. in Columbus pleaded guilty to one count possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to two years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections and two years post-release supervision.
- Randy Gunter, no address available,pleaded guilty to two counts sale of cocaine. He was sentenced to 12 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections and five years post-release supervision for each count. He was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. The sentences are to run concurrently.
- Kevin E. Paterson of 748 State Line Road in Ethelsville, Ala., pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to four years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections and four years post-release supervision.
- Alexis D. Morgan of 105 Crenshaw Drive pleaded guilty to one count possession of marijuana, one count burglary of a dwelling, one count possession of a gun by a felon and one count possession of stolen property. For the first charge, Morgan was sentenced to three years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. For the second, 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years of post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. For the third, he was sentenced to six years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. For the fourth, he was sentenced to six years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The sentences are to run consecutively.
- Christopher McClinton, no address available pleaded guilty to the sale of cocaine. He was sentenced to 12 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, five years post-release supervision and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.
- Lavarus Dillard, no address available, pleaded guilty to the burglary of an auto. He was sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections and ordered to pay $865 in restitution.
- Darla Warren of 191 Crosby Road in Detroit, Ala., pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine precursors. She was sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and five years post-release supervision.
