Columbus Police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for a drive-by shooting last week.
Police have charged Jason Lemarcus Lafayette, 23, of 16 Watling Way in Columbus, with five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He was arrested Friday.
Thursday, April 23 at 10:04 p.m., Keion McGregory, 19, was standing on the corner of 23rd Street and Fourth Avenue North in Columbus when he was hit by a gunshot, which came from a car speeding down the street.
When police arrived a short time later, several .380 caliber bullet casings were found near the scene. Police have not confirmed whether or not these are the same caliber as the bullet with which McGregory was shot.
McGregory was not seriously injured in the attack and was treated at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and released.
Bond has been set for Lafayette at $5,000 for each count. His court date has been set for June 4 at the Columbus Municipal Court.
