James B. Clemmons Sr. of Battlefield, Mo., was recently appointed state president for AARP Missouri, a two-year renewable volunteer position. State presidents provide a leadership voice on behalf of the volunteers in Missouri and they are a key leadership partner with the AARP Missouri state director. In his new position, Clemmons will work in collaboration with AARP Missouri volunteers and staff to achieve the AARP vision, mission and strategic priorities.
Clemmons was raised in Ethelsville, Ala., and is the son of the late Virgil W. Clemons Sr. of Ethelsville and the late Beatrice Clemmons of Pearl.
