Two Mississippi State University students, including a Heritage Academy graduate from Columbus, are dead after a car accident near Carthage in Leake County.
Lyndsi Marie Hill, of Columbus, and Bradley Kyle Gibson, of Starkville, both passed away at University Medical Center in Jackson. Gibson died Sunday night, and Hill passed away this morning.
The accident, which occurred Sunday afternoon on Highway 25, is being investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Further details were unavailable Monday morning.
Both Hill and Gibson were airlifted to UMC in Jackson after the wreck.
Hill was a junior at MSU majoring in human sciences/human development and family studies. She was a 2005 Heritage graduate.
“She was well liked by everyone,” said Heritage office manager Sue Gentry. “She was a very hard worker. We are all saddened by this news.”
Gibson, who is originally from Terry, was a graduate student earning a degree in entomology. He was 2005 cum laude graduate of MSU and held a degree in agriculture and life sciences.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been determined.
