The city of Columbus is assisting residents with their spring cleaning.
City residents may place old and unused appliances — stoves, refrigerators, and microwaves — and furniture — including, chairs, sofas, mattresses and dressers — for pick-up by city crews on designated days this week.
Crews will pick up in areas from First Street South to Highway 69 and south of Main Street on Monday; from First Street North to Highway 69 and between Main Street and Bluecutt Road, on Tuesday and from Highway 69 (on the east side) to Lehmberg Road on Wednesday.
Additionally, crews will pick up appliances and furniture in areas north of Bluecutt Road on Thursday.
Senior citizens who need assistance in placing items curbside can contact the Action Center at 662-329-5147 or the mayor”s office at 662-328-7021.
