Thoughts

- This defensive configuration is interesting. In Jaquarius Landrews' absence, we've seen MSU move Johnathan Abram from safety to Nickel, putting C.J. Morgan in Abram's safety spot. It's a ton of playing time for Morgan, which has not been the case all season. Marcus Murphy is still getting some reps in on defense, but the real rep increase is for Morgan.

- Sometimes it's penalties, sometimes it's sacks, sometimes it's as trick play going awry. There is no one reason for MSU's offensive sputters thus far. But obviously they need an answer quick, because the defense can't hold up what was a pretty impressive performance after the first two drives.
