An annual rite of spring is just around the corner. The 65th annual Junior Auxiliary of Columbus Charity Ball takes place Saturday, March 28 at Trotter Convention Center.
A highlight of the evening’s pageantry is the presentation of the court prior to the announcement of the Charity Ball king and queen. This year’s court consists of 29 graduating high school seniors.
Following the introduction of ball royalty, a program of musical vignettes from past ball performances — “Tribute to the Decades,” written and narrated by Ron Locke — will be presented. The evening includes dancing to the music of the band Stretta of Nashville, Tennessee, and a royal breakfast at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets to the breakfast ($20) and balcony tickets to the ball ($20) are available at Military Hardware in Columbus, 1002 13th St. N. To inquire about tickets remaining for table seating in the main ballroom, contact Macaulay Whitaker, 662-327-6010, or email [email protected].
The event funds the Columbus chapter’s numerous projects serving the children of Lowndes County.
