Annunciation Catholic School middle school theater students (sixth, seventh and eighth grades) traveled down the rabbit hole April 28-29 as they presented “Alice in Wonderland Jr.”
Under the direction of theater teacher Celsie Staggers, ACS students held four performances over two days.
The production included several songs giving opportunities to showcase students of all different musical skill levels.
ACS students auditioned in the fall in front of a panel of local judges and parts were assigned appropriately. After months of rehearsals, weekends dedicated to props and costumes, and hours of make-up, students were ready to show off their hard work.
“Alice in Wonderland, Jr.” features the ever-curious Alice’s journey begins innocently enough as she chases the White Rabbit. Her adventures become increasingly stranger as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, sings with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game.
Annunciation Catholic School is an Arts in the Classroom school.
