According to the United States Census Bureau, women made up about one in three lawyers in the U.S. workforce in 2018. On Thursday, March 5, the community will have an opportunity to hear from at least three area attorneys who have succeeded in a career field typically dominated by males.
In observance of Women’s History Month, the next Town & Tower Club luncheon scheduled for Thursday, March 5, will highlight women in the law, including a panel discussion with attorneys Lindsay Kirkley Clemons of Columbus, Missy Wigginton (aka Mama Justice) of Tupelo, Stephanie Smith Woodard with Woodard Law Firm, LLC of Columbus, and Clarissa Harris of West Point. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Pope Banquet Room.
The program titled “Balancing the Scales” will be moderated by Karen Clay, general counsel at Mississippi University for Women. The W’s legal studies program also will be highlighted.
