Explore the history of the Tenn-Tom Waterway with Ranger Randi Robison for the November session of Dr. D's Brain Jam hosted by Three Sisters Pie Co. in downtown Columbus today at 6 p.m.
Robison, natural resource specialist at the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, will present "A Campfire Talk with a Local Park Ranger."
"I am very excited to be sharing the history, current events and fun activities locals can enjoy on the Tenn-Tom Waterway," said Robison. "The Tenn-Tom Waterway is an engineering marvel with a captivating history that many people drive over every day without noticing."
Ranger Robison encourages everyone to arrive early for hot chocolate and for participants to bring plenty of questions.
The reoccurring speaker series, Dr. D's Brain Jam, is a series that hopes to provide entertaining and educational topics to connect experts with the community.
The series is co-sponsored by the Mississippi University for Women Department of History, Political Science and Geography and Three Sisters Pie Co. There will be a speaker on the last Sunday of each month. All events are free and open to the public.
The next Brain Jam will be held Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, with Reyna Vergara presenting "Sor Juana Ines de la Crus: Power, Rebellion & Scandal in Colonial Mexico."
