Two Lowndes County scholars have been recognized for academic achievements and community involvement. Cooper Stanley and Jenna Williams have both been awarded the $4,000 John T. Crunk Scholarship, as well as scholarships from the Copier Dealers Association.
Stanley is a 2019 graduate of Caledonia High School and has logged over 150 hours of community service including the Salvation Army kettle bell, special needs cheerleader volunteer, tornado relief volunteer, and first grade reading and math tutor. She was a varsity cheerleader, tennis captain, Beta Club treasurer and Student Government class representative in addition to other activities.
Honors include the Presidential Gold Award for Academic Excellence, a four-time Universal Cheerleading Association All-American, Mississippi Scholars Academic Excellence and Community Service, University of Alabama Presidential Scholarship, ACT Achievement Award and Hall of Fame.
She will attend the University of Alabama and major in marketing.
She is the daughter of Todd and Patti Stanley.
Williams is a 2018 homeschool graduate with a 4.0 average. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Columbus GirlChoir alumni, Mississippi Baptist All-State Youth Choir and Orchestra alumni, Mississippi Baptist Symphony Orchestra, William Carey Honor Choir, and was invited to sing with the Columbus Girlchoir at Carnegie Hall.
Community service includes Operation Ukraine/Haiti Relief, Loaves and Fishes and World Changers. She is a recipient of the William Carey Presidential Scholarship, Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and a Mississippi Baptist Foundation Scholarship.
Williams will pursue her Bachelor of Music Education at William Carey University in Hattiesburg.
She is the daughter of Wendell and Kim Williams.
