Tuesday, June 11 

 

Sunset concert -- Stormy Monday holds a live album release from 7-9 p.m. at the MSU Amphitheater on campus. Free to the public. Lawn chairs welcome. An album release meet-and-greet begins at 6:30 p.m. 

 

 

 

Thursday, June 13 

 

Sounds of Summer -- Bring the lawn chairs or blankets to the first of four free Sounds of Summer concerts at the Columbus Riverwalk. Style entertains from 7-9 p.m. Food and beverages are available for purchase; no coolers or pets, please. Other concerts are June 27 and July 11, 25. Friday, June 14 

 

"Stagecoach" -- The Columbus Arts Council hosts a free 7 p.m. screening of the classic American western "Stagecoach" (1939), starring John Wayne and Claire Trevor, at the Rosenzweig Arts Center, 501 Main St. (10 percent off at Thai by Thai Restaurant on day of show with "Western password" available from CAC, 662-328-2787.) 

 

Tapas and Taps -- This fundraiser for Suicide Awareness features beer pairings and small plate dinner at Lion Hills Center, 2331 Military Road, Columbus. Ticket includes drinks as well as 12 tickets to use for plates from various restaurants. Live music and silent auction. 

 

 

 

Saturday, June 15 

 

Canoe day -- Noxubee Refuge in Oktibbeha County allows free canoeing and kayaking on Bluff Lake from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Equipment available. For more information, contact the Refuge, 662-323-5548. 

 

 

 

Tuesday, June 18 

 

100+ Women Who Care --100+ Women Who Care meets at 5:30 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriott in Columbus to vote on the nonprofit recipient of its first Impact Award donation. New members may join that night. Registration 5:30 p.m.; meeting is 6-7 p.m. Visit 100wwccolumbusms.org. 

 

 

 

Friday, June 21 

 

"Songs of the Dusty Trails & Wild West Tales" -- The Columbus Arts Council and Columbus Community Theatre present western-themed skits, music and poetry at 7 p.m. at the Rosenzweig Arts Center, 501 Main St. Member tickets $15 advance/$17 door; non-members $20/$22.
