Historic marker/Eighth of May — Dedication of a Sandfield Cemetery historic marker begins at 5:30 p.m. at the cemetery at the east end of College Street in Columbus, followed by an Eighth of May Celebration presented by Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science students at 6 p.m. Free to the public.

ACS Drawdown — Annunciation Catholic School presents its annual $10,000 Drawdown at 7 p.m. at Trotter Convention Center. Tickets are $100, admitting two adults to an early bird dinner, open bar, live music and raffles. Must be 21 or older.

Farmers Market Grand Opening — The Hitching Lot Farmers Market season grand opening is 7-10 a.m. at the corner of Second Avenue and Second Street North. Local growers, bakers and artisans offer fresh produce and much more. Oktibbeha plant sale — Oktibbeha County Master Gardeners hold an annual plant sale from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at the Starkville Community Market at the intersection of Lampkin and Russell Streets on three consecutive Saturdays. Proceeds support horticulture scholarships to MSU.

Road Dawgs Tour 2019 — The MSU Road Dawgs Tour stops in Starkville with Head Football Coach Joe Moorhead, Director of Athletics John Cohen and additional guests at the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex on campus. Loaves & Fishes — The annual Loaves & Fishes Community Soup Kitchen fundraiser this year is a fish fry from 5-7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 318 College St., Columbus. Entertainment, raffles and dine-in or takeout. Plates are $15; two for $25, includes beverage and dessert.
