As a prelude to the Everything Garden Expo Saturday and Sunday at the Mississippi Horse Park, the Starkville Area Arts Council presents three “brown bag” luncheons on garden-related topics March 2-4.
Each luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Book Mart, 120 E. Main St., in Starkville. Boxed lunches are available for $8, but need to be reserved in advance by calling 662-323-2844 by noon Monday.
On Wednesday Viking chef and Mississippi University for Women Culinary Arts instructor Vicki Leach speaks on “Cooking with Garden Herbs.”
On Thursday, area bird enthusiast Margaret Cropland will discuss “Butterflies and Hummingbirds in your Garden.”
Friday”s program features Mounti King of Flowers by the Bunch, demonstrating the “Art of Arranging Flowers from your Garden.”
Also on Friday, the Starkville Area Arts Council”s Arts in Public Places committee will host a wine and cheese reception from 5:30-7 p.m. in the lobby of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, 200 E. Main St. The occasion will serve as a grand opening for a garden-themed exhibit featuring local artists.
