Thomas Howard has been selected to participate in the 2023 session (June 4-17) of Mississippi Governor’s School. Mississippi Governor’s School is a residential honors program established in 1981 by Governor William F. Winter at Mississippi University for Women. The Governor’s School is designed to provide academic, creative and leadership experiences for a limited number of rising high school juniors and seniors who have demonstrated exceptional ability and achievement in their studies and who show high intellectual, creative and leadership potential.
Howard is the son of Major Tom Howard (U.S. Air Force – Retired) and Catherine Howard of Caledonia.
Howard has just completed the 11th grade at Caledonia High School where he received the following awards: Junior Male Outstanding Student; Superintendent’s list throughout high school; Beta Club and National Honor Society member; as a member of the All-Superior Caledonia Marching Band, he received 11th grade most outstanding and Pride Award for outstanding service, commitment and dedication to the success of the CHS band; selected front percussion ensemble section leader for 2023 marching band season; Junior Ambassador for Student Government Association.
Howard plans to pursue a career in aerospace engineering.
