■ Concert: Columbus Choral Society will hold its spring concert, “Why We Sing,” at 7 p.m. at Artz Community Hall, First United Methodist Church (602 Main Street).
■ Winemaker Dinner: Harvey’s Columbus will host a winemaker dinner with Jean Arnold at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature a five-course dinner and a sampling of Kate Arnold Wines from Washington, Oregon and California. ■ Tales from the Crypt: MSMS will host the annual Tales from the Crypt program at 7 p.m. in Friendship Cemetery. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students K-university.

■ Stroll Mates: Stroll Mates, a monthly walking group for moms hosted by Blissful Babywearing will be held at 9 a.m. at the Riverwalk. Enjoy fresh air and conversation with other moms.
■ Community Event: Amy Moe-Hoffman, curator for the MSU Dunn-Seiler Museum will give a presentation at the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum (206 Fellowship St., Starkville) at 10 a.m. The presentation will be about fossils and the deep history of North Mississippi they represent. Moe-Hoffman will bring specimens. Free to attend.
■ Lecture: MSU will host the 2023 Carlton Owen Lecture presented by the series namesake, Carlton Owen, who will present “Life Lessons from The Environmental Edge,” at 2 p.m. in Tully Auditorium, Thompson Hall. Free to attend.
Friday, April 21
■ Barbeque and Blues: Barbeque and Blues will be held from noon-2 p.m. on the lawn of the Tennessee Williams Welcome Center. Watermelon Slim and the Truckers will perform. Barbeque available for purchase.
■ Mississippi Roadshow: Mississippi Roadshow will stop in Columbus at 10 a.m. at the Trotter Convention Center. Professional appraisers will evaluate items including artwork, glass memorabilia and more. Tickets are $100 and include food, drink and one item appraisal. ■ BBQ: MSU’s Industrial Technology program will host its HOY party at 6 p.m. at the Starkville VFW hall. Tickets are $20-$30 and can be purchased via the link on the Facebook event page.
■ Concert: Mr. Sipp will perform at the Columbus Arts Council’s Omnova Theater at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on the arts council’s website. Free beer and soda for the show.
■ Touch-A-Truck: Starkville’s Touch-A-Truck event will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sudduth Elementary School (101 Greenfield St.) 10 a.m.-noon are quiet hours. Photo booth, book fair, food and snow cones. Tickets are $5 per child and are available at the event. Children under one year old are admitted free.
■ Farmers’ Market: The Starkville Community Market will kick off for the season at 8 a.m. Locally grown food, fresh baked goods, live plants, and local crafts and art available.
■ Concert: Starkville/MSU Symphony Association will present its Wingo Pops Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Bettersworth Auditorium in Lee Hall on Campus. Free to attend.
