As we enter into another new year, let us start it off by leaving behind our past hurts, regrets, and defeats. Once we do this, we can move forward to the new things that God has in store for us. “Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” (Isaiah 42:9) KJV
Last year was a tough year for some of us. We had a lot of setbacks, failures, and disappointments but God said this is a new year with new beginnings and things are going to be better. He’s giving us new blessing, new relationships and a new job with an increase in pay. “May the Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised!” (Deuteronomy 1:11) NIV
For everything we went through last year, God is giving us a fresh start. This is a new year with new beginnings, and He’s putting a new song in our mouth. For this reason, we can’t help but praise Him for turning all our situations around for our good. “He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40:3) NLT
Some of us have been struggling for a long time with our finances, health, businesses and careers. However, God says our struggles are over; this is a new year with new beginnings. He’s getting ready to open up new doors for us that will exceed our expectations because we have been obedient to His word. “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8) KJV
There were times last year when we allowed stress and worries to overwhelm us to the point we couldn’t think straight. However, this is a new year with new beginnings and God is giving us a new way of thinking. Therefore, let our minds think on these things. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4:8) KJV
So be encouraged today and always remember: This is a new year with new beginnings, and Jesus is making all things new in us. “And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” (Revelation 21:5) NLT
Happy new year!
