The Starkville/MSU Community Chorus will present “Songs and Sonnets of William Shakespeare” on Nov. 13, in the Recital Hall of the new Music Building located at 124 Hardy Rd. on the Mississippi State University campus.
The Chorus is conducted by Peter Infanger and will be accompanied on piano by James Allen and Elizabeth Hawkins.
“The program of music is interspersed with commentary on the Shakespearean texts offered by MSU Professor Emerita Nancy Hargrove, includes 16 selections ranging in style from classical to contemporary ending with a set of quasi-jazz pieces composed by British jazz pianist George Shearing,” said Infanger.
All gates to the building area will be open and free parking will be available at the north end of the building, next to the Kent Sills Band Hall. The building is also ground level and accessible to everyone.
The concert is free and open to the public.
