We should take each day as it comes and not get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. When we do this, it will keep us from worrying about tomorrow and live each day to the fullest. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:34) NLT
Often, when we’re going through a difficult situation, we just want to skip the time that needs to pass and get to the end result. However, we can’t jump ahead of God’s way, we have to take one day at a time and trust God to work it out in His timing. “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:5) KJV
When we constantly strive to keep up with deadlines, we get stressed out by the number of things we need to do. To avoid this, we must take things one day at a time. By doing this, we will accomplish much more and be more productive. “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7) NLT
The grief of losing a loved one is the most painful thing we can experience. It’s hard to move on immediately when we encounter pain and grief because grief is a long process. That’s why we have to take one day at a time to allow ourselves to let go, accept and mourn our love ones. “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4) KJV
A lot of times our future looks uncertain to us but God sees the bigger picture and He has a great plan for our lives. So let us stop spending so much time focusing on our future and live in the present by taking one day at a time. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) NIV
Some sicknesses we go through take longer than others but we have to hang in there and know God is healing us. The road to recovery will not always be easy; we have to take it one day at a time. “Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.” (Jeremiah 33:6) NIV
So be encouraged and always remember: “Life is easier when we take it one day at a time and for this reason we can rejoice. “The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.” (Psalm 118:24) NIV
