Northside Christian Church in West Point will celebrate the 25 year legacy of its pastor, Orlando Richmond, Sr. and his wife, Allison, next week.
The event will kick off with a semi formal banquet on Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at the West Point Civic Center. There will also be a worship service at 3 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the church’s main sanctuary.
“We are very pleased, my wife and I, to have been given the privilege of pastoring at Northside for 25 years and counting,” said Richmond. “The celebration, in my view, is more a celebration of the ministry over the last quarter of a century than it is of either her or I.”
There will be a special guest speaker at the service, Alphonso Bowen.
Bowen is a West Point native who pastors a church in Birmingham, Ala. and a gospel singer.
There is also an anniversary raffle. The prize is a three day, two night stay for two people in Manhattan, N.Y.
Roundtrip airfare on Delta Airlines is included, as is lodging at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
Tickets for the raffle are $25 and can be purchased on the church’s website or at the church. The winner will be announced at the banquet.
