STARKVILLE — Taste, at 208 Lincoln Green in Starkville, is hosting “Raise the Woof” from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday to benefit the Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS). Patrons can enjoy TASTE’s Italian cuisine, and meet adoptable dogs, with all food sales from the day benefiting OCHS.
This is the first campaign by Taste of its kind. For information about the event can be seen on the event website www.ochsms.org/event/taste online.
“We’re excited to partner with Taste for Raise the Woof,” said Rick Welch, OCHS board president. “TASTE is donating all food sales on Aug. 3 to OCHS to help ‘raise the roof’ on our new transport building. Once completed, the building will serve more than 2,700 pets in need annually.”
A representative of Taste Italian Kitchen said the fundraiser is inspired by the Dog Days of Summer.
“Taste Italian Kitchen is proud to partner with the Oktibbeha County Humane Society in the 1st ‘annual Raise the Woof’ fundraiser. We will be donating all proceeds from food sales for the entire day of the event,” the representative said. “Please come out to Taste Italian Kitchen and let’s raise the roof one meatball at a time.”
Founded on the belief that the community has the responsibility to treat animals humanely, OCHS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The mission of OCHS is to promote domestic animal welfare and the organization seeks to fulfill this mission by providing humane education; promoting animal welfare legislation; advocating and facilitating pet sterilization; and rescuing, sheltering, and promoting adoption of abandoned animals.
A newer restaurant to the city of Starkville, Taste Italian Kitchen is a unique place to dine for guests of all ages. With traditional-style Italian dishes, such as Lasagna Bolognese, spaghetti and meatballs, and the classic Alfredo, as well as unique twists such as the Saltimbocca Pork Chop and the Fra Diavolo, there is a dish on our menu for everyone. The restaurant also offers a variety of desserts, including Tiramisu and cannolis, in which the filling changes weekly. In addition to its menu, we offer a large selection of domestic and imported wines, as well as over 100 types of bourbon, rye and whiskey.
