TUPELO — Roy Turner, executive director of Elvis Presley Birthplace, announces Fan Appreciation Day on Aug. 13.
“We are planning a day full of fans, food and fun, Saturday, August 13, as we celebrate Fan Appreciation Day at Elvis’ Birthplace,” he said.
Beginning with a short ceremony on the Birthplace grounds at 10 a.m., the remainder of the day will be for experiencing everything Elvis from his humble birthplace house, to his boyhood church, to the unique museum experience.
Ticket prices for adults will be $10, good for all venues. The charge for tickets for children 7 to 12 is $5, and children six and under are free.
Beginning at 11 a.m., food trucks will be on the grounds to serve hungry fans, prior to the concerts that begin at 2 p.m.
Elvis Tribute Artists David Lee will perform live in the auditorium at 2 p.m., followed by Tupelo Elvis Tribute Artist Jack Curtis at 3:15 p.m..
The tickets are free and will be available on a first-come first-served basis. Only one of the two shows per person. Tickets will be available beginning at 9 a.m. Tickets are only available in person.
Live in the amphitheater will be groups performing four genres of music including country, rock and gospel.
Door prize tickets will be given with purchases throughout the day. There is no additional charge for the door prize tickets, but you must be present to win. Prizes include compact discs, collectable booklets and pictures. Visitors can register free for the drawing for a $250 Special Pink Basket to be given away later in the day. Also, a local Airbnb will giveaway a free weekend stay in Tupelo, and a neighborhood supermarket will give away an additional basket of Elvis fan favorites.
There will be a free 360-degree photo booth.
