Some two thousand years ago, Jesus died on the cross, but on the third day He rose again. So let us rejoice! Jesus is alive! “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (Revelation 1:18) KJV
When our lives were worthless, God showed His love for us by sending His Son to die for our sins. For this reason, we can rejoice, Jesus is alive! “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Roman 5:8) NIV
No matter what kind of sickness attacks our bodies, we’re healed. Jesus took our sickness on the cross so we could have His divine health. Every stripe He took was for our healing. Therefore, we can rejoice! Jesus is alive! “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) KJV
Despite the difficult circumstances we face, nothing can destroy our hope in God. He established our hope when he raised His Son. Through His resurrection our hope is alive, and that alone is enough to make us rejoice! “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3) KJV
Regardless of what comes against us in this world, it cannot defeat us because of Jesus’ victory on the cross. Whether it’s persecution, trials or tragedies we can rejoice in them for Jesus is alive! “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57) KJV
Some of the same people in the crowd that said they loved Jesus a few days prior, now hated Him enough to shout the words, “Crucify Him!” They mocked Him with insults and laughed at Him when He had done no wrong to anyone. When people do these things to us, we have to be like Jesus and pray for them. By doing this we can rejoice for we know Jesus is alive! “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” (Luke 23:34)
Jesus endured a lot of suffering for us, but He never said a word. As children of God, we will have to suffer some things but while we go through our suffering, we can rejoice, in the fact that Jesus is alive! “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him.” (2 Timothy 2:12) KJV
So be encouraged today and always remember: We can rejoice today because Jesus is alive! For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.” (Job 19:25) KJV
Happy resurrection Sunday!
