Six members of the Bernard Romans Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution — Eleanor Ellis (left), Judith Jarrett, Chapter Regent Frances Hairston, Emilie White, Jo Shumake and Hills District Director Pam Bullock — attended the 116th State Conference in Jackson, Feb. 16-19. The Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard presented the flags at the opening meeting. Members attended genealogy workshops, business meetings and the Children of the American Revolution debutante ball. The chapter received seven citations from the National Society of the DAR and 20 citations from the Mississippi State Society of the DAR. The chapter received a national citation for outstanding accomplishments in attaining a Chapter Achievement Award Level 1. The MSSDAR presented the chapter a Silver Chapter Achievement Award.
