As children of God, we have the favor of God on our lives because He has granted it to us. Thou hast granted me life and favor, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.” (Job 10:12) KJV
Having God’s favor on our lives will do these things for us:
n Bless and protect us — God’s favor will promote us with increased wages and promotions. He will open the right doors and connect us to the right people that will put us in position to be blessed. His favor will also protect us like a shield on every side and shield us against the pressures of life. “Surely You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12) NKJV
• Give us favor with God and man — God’s favor will produce recognition in our lives. It will put us on a great platform and bring us before huge audiences because we have built our conduct on His truth. By doing this, it will earn us a good name and reputation in the sight of God and man. “So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3:4) KJV
• Rests upon us — When the favor of God is upon us, it will bless the works of our hands so we can be successful in everything we do. Whether we’re working in the ministry, in our business, or on our job, we will be effective and accomplish everything God assigned us to do. “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the works of our hands for us yes, establish the works of our hands.” (Psalms 90:17) NIV
• Help us triumph over our enemies – The favor of God will give us victory over our enemies. No matter what they try to do to us, they will not win. “By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.” (Psalm 41:11) KJV
• Will not hold any good things from us — With God’s favor on our lives, He will not allow anyone or anything to hold Him back from giving us the good things He promises we can have because we walk upright before Him. “For the Lord God is a sun and shield, the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good things does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless” (Psalm 84:11) NIV
So be encouraged today and always remember: The favor of God that we have on our lives has no end; it will last our entire lifetime. “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalms 30:5) NKJV
