Yardbird Bento, recently received a contract to serve food at the Golden Triangle Regional Airport on Thursdays.
Co-owner Madeleine Scott said the mobile food unit expects to serve food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. She noted that there aren’t any food options at the airport and nearby factories, other than gas stations.
There are approximately 6,300 people employed at manufacturers, processors and other business in and around the Golden Triangle Regional Industrial Aerospace Park, according to Macaulay Whitaker, Golden Triangle Development LINK chief operating officer.
The industrial park includes the airport.
Yardbird Bento serves what Scott describes as lighter fare. It includes sticky, white jasmine rice topped with grilled chicken or vegetables and their special sauce.
