A lot of times we say we have given our situation to God, and we find ourselves giving part of it to God and holding on to the other. So let us start today letting it all go and letting God do it for us because He can do what we cannot do with our situations. “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26) NIV
Oftentimes, we find ourselves holding on to the things that happen to us in our past. We can’t change our past, but we can let go and let God do it for us. He’s the only One who can help us forget our past and move forward to the future He has for us. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” (Philippians 3:13) KJV
When you have done everything you know to do to make your marriage work, let go and let God do it for you. He knows how to work it out for your good. While you’re trying to figure it out, God has already worked it out. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”(Roman 8:28)KJV
One of the most difficult things for us to let go is the death of a close family member or friend. Nevertheless, when we stop trying to deal with it ourselves and let God comfort us, we will find ourselves comforting others as God comforts us. “Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” (2 Corinthians 1:4) KJV
Lately we feel burdened with responsibility because we are the one who usually takes charge in the home, business or family affairs, and it’s causing us to be overwhelmed with stress. During times like these, we have to cast our burdens on the Lord and let go and let Him do it for us. “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22) KJV
So be encouraged today and always remember: When we learn how to let go and let God handle things for us, we will stop being anxious to do it ourselves. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6) NIV2
